Use Settings to choose the language and appearance of Tracy, check which account you are using and find help. These preferences control your experience in Tracy. Website content and design have their own settings and editing steps.
Open your account menu at the bottom of the left column and choose “Settings”. The menu uses your picture, name or email when available. Choose a section on the left, then use “Close settings” to return to your work.
How do I change Tracy’s interface language?
Tracy’s interface languages are English, Vietnamese, German, Italian, French, Dutch, Simplified Chinese and Spanish.
- Open “Settings”, then “General”.
- Find “Language”. Its description is “Language of the Tracy interface”.
- Open the language menu and choose a language, or choose “Follow device”.
The menu displays languages in their own names. The Chinese option is Simplified Chinese. Choosing a language sets your preference; choosing “Follow device” clears that explicit choice.
What does Follow device mean?
Follow device uses a supported language from your device or browser’s language preferences instead of a language you choose in Tracy.
The language control shows the language currently in use alongside “Follow device”. If no preferred device language matches a supported interface language, Tracy uses English. You can choose an interface language explicitly to use a particular one.
Traditional Chinese device preferences are not automatically treated as Simplified Chinese. Tracy checks other supported preferences before falling back to English.
Does changing the interface language translate my website?
Changing Tracy’s interface language does not translate your website or choose the language of your conversation.
These are separate choices:
- The interface language controls Tracy’s menus, buttons and other interface text.
- The conversation language comes from your messages and the language you ask Tracy to use. You can write in a different language from the interface.
- The website language belongs to the website’s content. When editing, Tracy is instructed to keep the language of the page unless your request asks for another language.
For example, you can use Tracy’s English interface, discuss a change in French and keep the edited page in German. State the intended page language clearly when requesting a translation or a change to multilingual content. Review the resulting pages rather than assuming that a language preference translated them.
See Chatting with Tracy for writing requests. AI can make mistakes. Not every change can be undone, and external effects cannot be recalled. Review the website and See what Tracy changed after an editing request.
How do I change appearance and text size?
Tracy offers Light, Dark and System appearance, and Font size changes only the conversation content.
In “Settings”, open “General” and find “Appearance”:
- “Light” uses Tracy’s light appearance.
- “Dark” uses Tracy’s dark appearance.
- “System” follows your computer’s light or dark preference.
You can also open “Appearance” directly from the account menu. To change conversation text size, use the decrease and increase buttons beside “Font size” in General. A button is disabled when the permitted limit is reached.
These controls change Tracy’s interface and conversation display. They do not apply a design system, change website fonts or switch your website’s own light or dark appearance. See Design templates and brand for changes to the website’s design.
Why is a setting missing?
The settings you see depend on the Tracy environment’s configuration and whether you use a browser or the desktop app.
A section or control can be hidden by configuration. A missing section does not by itself establish that your account is broken. Desktop controls can also differ from those in the browser. For example, desktop system notification controls belong to the desktop app.
If the instructions do not match what you see, note whether you are in the browser or the desktop app and which section or control is missing. Report that information through Tracy Discord. Do not try to change your site role to reveal a personal setting.
See Inbox and notifications for notification preferences and Desktop app for app-specific controls.
How do I switch to another account?
To use another account, check your current email in Account, sign out and sign in with the intended account.
- Open “Settings”, then “Account”.
- Check the address under “Email”.
- Under “Session”, choose “Sign out”.
- Sign in with the account you intend to use, then check its email and sites.
The Account section displays your sign-in address. It does not provide an email-edit or account-deletion control. Signing into another account does not rename or merge your existing account.
Signing out ends the session in that browser or app. It does not remove your membership of a site’s team or sign you out of every other device. Site access belongs to the signed-in account, so using another account can show a different set of sites. Check the email before assuming that a site has disappeared. See Sign in and beta access and Team, roles and invitations.
How do I reopen Getting started?
You can reopen Getting started from the account menu or from Help & about when the setup screen is enabled.
Choose “Getting started” in the account menu. If that row is hidden, open “Settings”, then “Help & about”, and use “Getting started” there.
The setup screen covers your sign-in, AI account, appearance and language. The desktop version also includes notifications. Use “Back” and “Continue” to move through it, “Skip” to leave it or “Done” to finish.
“Hide from account menu” removes the menu row while keeping the setup screen accessible from Help & about. When reopening it, “Show in account menu” can restore the row. Completing every setup step can also remove the menu row. An environment can disable the setup screen itself, including both entry points.
Where do I find help and version information?
Help & about shows the server build when that information is available, and the desktop app also shows its app version.
Open “Settings”, then “Help & about”. Record the displayed server build and, when using the desktop app, the running app version when reporting a problem. An app version displayed beside the browser’s download link describes the offered desktop download, not an app running inside your browser.
This section includes “Help center”, “FAQ” and “Community”, as well as “Privacy policy” and “Terms of use”. Community opens Tracy Discord for questions and feedback.
Tracy on the web updates on Tracy’s side. Reload the page to load the newest version. Desktop updates have their own status and installation actions; read Desktop app rather than assuming every copy updates itself in the same way. The browser can also offer “Download Desktop App”, which opens the Download page.
How do I ask about account changes or my data?
For an account change, account deletion or a question about your data, contact Tracy Discord to ask for guidance. Do not treat signing out, changing the displayed language or leaving a site as an account-deletion request. This article does not promise a particular outcome or response time for a policy request.
Use “Privacy policy” and “Terms of use” in Help & about for the published policies. See Security and your data for handling sensitive information.
For a settings problem, describe the action, what you expected, what appeared and the time with its time zone. Include the browser or app context and the displayed version information where available. Remove passwords, tokens, sign-in codes and private customer information before sharing screenshots or copied details.
