Tracy helps you create and change websites on supported platforms. AI can make mistakes. Check the actual pages and the effects of a change before relying on the result.
Which platforms can Tracy create and import?
Tracy can create new Joomla, WordPress and EmDash sites; importing an existing site supports Joomla and WordPress only.
| Platform | Create a new site | Import an existing site |
|---|---|---|
| Joomla | Supported | Supported, subject to import requirements |
| WordPress | Supported | Supported, subject to import requirements |
| EmDash | Supported | Not supported |
| Shopify | Not supported | Not supported |
An available starting design must have a version for the platform you choose. A design offered on one platform does not guarantee a version on the others.
Import creates a working copy in Tracy. It does not move your existing website to a different host or publish Tracy’s edits back to the original. Installing or updating the connector during import can change the original site before the copy is made. Read Import a site before connecting a live website.
If this does not work: Check the platform and the displayed import requirements. Do not select another platform to bypass an unsupported-site message.
Does Tracy support Shopify or custom-coded applications?
Tracy does not support Shopify or arbitrary custom-coded applications.
Use Tracy for websites on its supported platforms. Its ability to edit code within a supported website does not make it a general application-building service.
If this does not work: Describe your platform and intended task through Tracy Discord before relying on Tracy for a site outside the supported scope.
Can every change be undone?
Not every change can be undone, and external effects cannot be recalled.
Recovery depends on the platform, the action and the history that was actually saved:
- On Joomla and WordPress, supported changes can have file history or recorded content changes. Later conflicting edits can prevent an earlier change from being undone.
- EmDash does not provide the readable file history used by Tracy’s file Diff and chat-turn Undo. Its admin log covers pages and posts, not menus, settings or media. An empty change list does not prove that nothing changed.
- EmDash content backups restore the database and media, with the template code left as it is.
- A backup without a usable database copy cannot restore the complete database state. Restoring an older database can remove later orders, comments, form entries and other saved records.
A site’s history does not provide a way to recall an email already sent or reverse an effect in an external service. Asking Tracy to reverse a change is a new request, not a guarantee of exact recovery.
Read See what Tracy changed and Undo and backups for the action’s scope before continuing. Use Export your site when you need a downloadable copy; downloading a file or viewing a change list is not the same as exporting the complete site.
If this does not work: Read the reason the recovery action is unavailable. Avoid making more changes until you have checked which saved point and which parts of the site can be recovered.
Does Tracy ask before every change?
Ordinary edits can apply immediately; Tracy does not have a universal approval step before every change.
Tracy has targeted confirmations for consequential actions, including supported deletion, database rollback, core upgrade and installation or activation of extensions, plugins or themes. Some changes affecting shared parts or several places can also require confirmation.
These checks do not guarantee that every destructive, site-wide or monetary change will be detected. Review the action and its scope when a confirmation appears. Answer that confirmation rather than assuming a separate chat message authorizes it.
Stopping a request is not an undo action. A write that has already been sent can still finish after you stop Tracy. If the outcome is uncertain, inspect the site and its recorded changes before asking for the same change again.
If this does not work: Do not keep approving or resending an unclear action. Check Chatting with Tracy and report the displayed message through Tracy Discord.
Does a technical limit mean I need a different plan?
A technical limit is not a paid-plan allowance, and a site role is not a billing unit.
Different limits apply to different operations:
| Type of limit | What it concerns | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Tracy account or request | Sign-in code requests, request size or how frequently an action is requested | The particular action and its displayed refusal |
| Site or host | An operation already running, export size or temporary space | The site’s current operation and the error details |
| Shared service | Deployment capacity or a shared service budget | Whether the message asks you to wait or contact the team |
| Your AI provider | Your connected provider account’s access, usage allowance or temporary rate limit | The named provider and the connection’s status |
A temporary provider rate limit does not by itself prove that your provider subscription is exhausted. Connecting your own AI account also does not remove Tracy’s technical limits. See AI accounts, models and limits.
Tracy is free during the beta. Owner, Editor and Viewer describe permissions on a site. They do not establish a paid allowance or remove an operation’s size, rate or capacity limits.
If this does not work: Follow the message for the specific limit. Do not assume that retrying immediately, changing a teammate’s role or reconnecting the same AI account will remove it.
Does a missing feature mean my account is broken?
A missing feature does not by itself mean your account is broken.
What you see can depend on your site role, the platform and the features enabled in your Tracy environment. Viewer access is read-only for the agent; Editor and Owner access allow site edits. An Owner has additional permissions for site access and lifecycle actions. See Team, roles and invitations.
A screenshot or example is not proof that every account has the same controls.
If this does not work: Check your role on the affected site and read the relevant help article. For an unexplained difference, send the site address, the missing action and the message you see through Tracy Discord. Do not share passwords, tokens or private site archives publicly.
Does platform support guarantee compatibility with every site?
Support for a platform does not guarantee compatibility with every hosting setup, template, theme, plugin or extension.
Import and editing depend on the site’s requirements and the connector’s available operations. For example, an import can be refused when the original host’s PHP version cannot run the required connector.
Do not assume that supporting a Joomla site guarantees a successful major-version upgrade of its templates and extensions. A core upgrade is a separate consequential operation, not proof that every installed component is compatible. Check the site’s requirements before asking for a migration or upgrade. See Tracy for Joomla.
Moving an exported site to another host also requires checking that destination’s requirements and the package’s installation instructions. Exporting does not transfer a hosting account or change DNS for you.
If this does not work: Keep the existing site intact while you identify the incompatible requirement. For a build or startup failure, use Site not loading. Share the error with the team through Tracy Discord without including credentials.
